Arsenal vs Liverpool and FA Cup 2024 3rd round tickets to buy

04/01/2024

The FA Cup is one of the most famous competitions worldwide and the big boys will join the competition in this third round stage.

It has been played since the start of the season, with lower-ranked teams facing each other to reach the next rounds of the competition.

When the third-round draw was made, we could all not resist the game between Liverpool and Arsenal.

It is the biggest game of this round of the competition, and fans will want to know who will come out on top.

Both clubs have already met this season as Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League by the Gunners at home last month.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are surprisingly at the top of the league table in this new year despite completely rebuilding their midfield in the summer, and it will be interesting to see if they can win the league.

Manchester City is another team that makes fans buy FA Cup tickets, and they are the defending champions of the competition, having won it last season.

They will face Huddersfield Town this round, while the struggling Manchester United goes to Wigan and Sunderland hosts Newcastle in a Tyne–Wear derby clash.

We previewed some of the games you absolutely want to buy tickets for.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Liverpool and Arsenal have been big rivals for decades, but when Jurgen Klopp came to town, the Reds began to dominate this fixture, especially at Anfield.

Mikel Arteta wants to change that, and his team got a point in their last game at Anfield to show they have killed that fear factor.

However, Arsenal would went on to lose their next two games to West Ham and Fulham, which is hardly a way to prepare for this fixture.

Arteta won the FA Cup in 2020, while Liverpool were champions in 2022, so both clubs will want to win this year’s edition.

We do not expect them to rest their best players, but Liverpool has lost Mohamed Salah, who is with the Egypt national team for the AFCON and will be a significant absentee.

Will Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and others have enough in them to send Liverpool packing from the FA Cup?

Sunderland vs Newcastle United

Sunderland hosts their North Eastern rivals in this FA Cup third round tie, and it offers them a chance to pile more pressure on Eddie Howe.

Newcastle has lost all their last four competitive matches, and it is beginning to feel like the end of Howe’s spell as their manager is approaching.

Sunderland is one of the clubs battling to gain promotion back to the Premier League and are unbeaten in their last three games after a temporary slump in form.

They have a very young team that has been carefully developed and have more than enough technical players to cause problems for Newcastle, including Jobe Bellingham.

This is the best time for the Black Cats to face Newcastle, and they know they cannot miss this opportunity to knock them out of the FA Cup.

Tottenham vs Burnley

Another interesting FA Cup third round tie to watch is the Spurs versus Burnley match in London, as two clubs with attacking philosophy and different outcomes meet.

Burnley has remained patient with Vincent Kompany despite their horrific run of form in the league, and the ex-Manchester City defender does not want to change his approach to the game.

He is similar to Ange Postecoglou, who has instructed his team to attack relentlessly in every game, and this is why this match will be interesting.

After a slump, Spurs are back up and running with four wins from their last five Premier League games, the last of which was a 3-1 success over Bournemouth.

Burnley have improved in the last few weeks, but they still cannot win matches consistently and have just a win and three losses in their last four games.

This is not the best time for them, but the FA Cup gives so much room for upsets, and we cannot rule them out of winning.

Middlesbrough vs Aston Villa

Michael Carrick is doing an amazing job at Middlesbrough, and Aston Villa will be making a huge mistake if they underestimate them in this game.

Boro reached the Championship playoffs last season and is pushing to be there at the end of this campaign.

They have not been as impressive as they were in the second half of last season, but there is still time, and Villa will know they face a tough test in this game.

Boro lost their last competitive game to Coventry, which is not a good way to prepare for this game.

Villa is one of the in-form teams in the Premier League now, and Unai Emery knows how to win a cup, having won several Europa League trophies.

The Villans will be confident they can reach the next round with victory in this game, but they must not underestimate Boro.

Wigan vs Manchester United

Despite being relegated to League One, Wigan has not woken up, and it will not surprise most people if they are relegated again.

The former Premier League side has been handed a harsh draw with this game against Manchester United, but we are all familiar with how inconsistent Erik Ten Hag’s side has been this season.

United fans would be eager for their club to win this trophy after reaching the final last year and losing to Manchester City.

But the FA Cup is a competition where big clubs come unstuck, and one of the most vulnerable top teams in the Premier League at the moment is Ten Hag’s side.

Wigan will feel they have what it takes to cause an upset and will face the Red Devils with less pressure to do well.

Brentford vs Wolves

Brentford’s game against Wolves is another all Premier League encounter in the FA Cup in this round and it is a game between two similar clubs.

Wolves is doing well this term under Gary O’Neil, while Brentford is beginning to feel the loss of Ivan Toney and could be relegated from the English top flight.

Thomas Frank’s side started this season well and earned some huge results, including defeating Chelsea away from home.

However, the Bees have lost all their last five matches ahead of this game, which is a shocking stat for one of the finest clubs in the league.

Wolves is in fine form and have won every of their last three games before this match, which means they are full of confidence.

The Wolves also has a superb record in the head to head of this fixture as they have won three of the last four and lost none of them.

Manchester City vs Huddersfield Town

Manchester City are the defending champions of the FA Cup and will love to win the competition in consecutive seasons.

After conquering Europe and the world, City can now focus on winning domestic competitions again, which is why Huddersfield should be worried.

The Citizens are also close to welcoming Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne back to their starting XI, two players who have a strong bond and helped them triumph in Europe and domestically last season.

Huddersfield is struggling close to the relegation spot in the Championship and were thrashed by Leicester City in their last game before this fixture.

They know it will be difficult for them in Manchester, but a determined performance from them could cause one of the biggest upsets of the new year.
