Why Tottenham can win the Premier League this season

Tottenham has had an unexpectedly good season in the Premier League and is looking good to win the league.

Ange Postecoglou joined the club in the summer to become its manager after they had dismissed Antonio Conte last season.

Although he was very successful at Celtic, the Australian came to England as a relatively unknown coach, considering the quality of managers Premier League fans are used to.

He has done well to keep his team unbeaten after ten league matches and knows the task will get more challenging.

Spurs have not faced all the teams in the Premier League, but they defeated Liverpool and played out a 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

People will argue that they will fail to win matches against their direct rivals, and this could stop them from winning the league.

However, beating the smaller clubs and losing to some title rivals is enough to make any team champions of England.

Manchester City has demonstrated this and has been successful because they focus so much on winning every game, especially against beatable teams.

Spurs fans who buy Tottenham tickets did not dream of seeing their team in its current position at the start of this season.

They had wanted to just make the top four and get back into the Champions League next term.

They can still achieve this, but in their current form, it seems they will even win the Premier League.

However, it is hard to see the fans of other clubs or a pundit who believe Tottenham could realistically be champions of England next summer.

The Lilywhites have not had the best of seasons for decades, and no one thinks they can instantly become champions with a new managerial bounce.

But the Premier League is one of the most unpredictable competitions in the world, and Spurs could finish the season atop the standings.

No one believes they can

As we have highlighted before, there is hardly a football-neutral pundit who believes Tottenham will be champions of England next summer.

Apart from their 2-1 win against Liverpool, it is hard to see a game they could have lost.

Yet, it is hard to find a football fan who is confident that Tottenham can be champions of England.

But this is a good thing because it takes the pressure off them as a team and they can keep making progress.

We expect Liverpool and Manchester City to win the league, so they are under a lot of pressure to perform, but Spurs are not under that much pressure.

The Lilywhites can continue winning games and making progress under the radar while no one sees them as a threat, and this could make winning a habit for them.

If that happens, it will be hard for any team to stop them from becoming the Champions of England.

The lack of European football

Playing in Europe is a thing of pride for most football fans, and that is why they want their team to qualify for the Champions League and other European competitions consistently.

However, when that does not happen, it could be a blessing in disguise and an important opportunity for a club to rebuild.

This is a key advantage in the title race that is not being talked about enough, and it will help Spurs win the title.

Other teams will make a big mistake to underestimate his experience from his spell at these countries and that will be even better for Spurs.

The experience has shaped how his Tottenham team has performed and coped with the departure of Harry Kane in the summer.

If his players listen to him and he works hard to understand the demands of being champions of England, Tottenham will top the standings for a long time and win the Premier League next summer.

Son Heung-min and James Maddison partnership

Son Heung-min was dismal last season, which surprised us all after he won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2022.

The South Korean was even tipped to leave the club in the summer after Kane left, and he was courted by several clubs.

But even the riches on offer in Saudi Arabia did not make him leave Tottenham, something that fans appreciate.

Spurs added James Maddison to the group from the relegated Leicester City and both men have formed a superb on-field chemistry so far.

We all know Maddison is a world-class player wasting away at Leicester City, and he has not surprised most fans with his performances so far.

The midfielder has made a blistering start to life in London. His surging runs, trickery and passes have made Spurs hard to stop.

He makes life easy for Son and that is why the South Korean has hit top form again and is filling the void Kane’s departure left behind.

Son has eight goals in ten Premier League games this term, which is almost the total he scored last term (10).

Maddison has three goals and five assists from the same number of league games, and their partnership is clearly driving Tottenham towards winning the league.

Manchester City and Liverpool remain the strongest teams in the Premier League and the favourites to win the title.

However, Tottenham is deservedly top of the standings for much of the term so far and should be accorded respect.

The Lilywhites have tougher games ahead of them and may even lose some matches.

However, they have made a fantastic start to this season and have a unique chance to be the champions of England at the end of this term if they continue to work hard.

Time will tell if Spurs will suffer a slump and end the term like the other Spursy seasons we have become accustomed to.

But the Lilywhites supporters can enjoy this moment because it is one of the best in their history and does not come often.
