The top Premier League match tickets to buy in April

04/04/2024

After a few weeks' hiatus, the Premier League has returned to TV screens and will never take another break until the season ends.

The March international break was the last of the season, so we have entered the business end of the season when the title could be won or lost, and teams could be relegated or survive. At least ten rounds of games remain for most teams, and many of these games are high-pressure matches that will determine the season's outcome.

In April alone, there are 54 such fixtures, making the month one of the best months for football and a good time to get Premier League tickets

That said, we look at the top ten Premier League games in April.

Chelsea vs Manchester United–April 04

Chelsea versus Manchester United on April 04 is one of the most tasty fixtures to watch in April. Both sides are not having the best seasons, yet this fixture remains a box-office fixture in the Premier League.

The last meeting between Chelsea and Manchester United produced a classic, with a brace from Scott McTominay sealing a 2-1 win for the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

That said, Chelsea may not be the favourites to win this tie, but United are also not overwhelming favourites due to their inconsistent nature this season.

But Erik ten Hag's side have been the better team in this fixture recently, as they are unbeaten in their last 12 head-to-head Premier League meetings with Chelsea (W5, D7).

Chelsea fans will be desperate for their team to end that woeful run this time as they attempt to break beyond tenth position, which appears to be their ceiling this season.

Everton vs Burnley–April 06

Everton's game against Burnley in Round 32 is one of the best games to watch in April. Both sides are battling relegation, making this fixture a must-win.

Another exciting side attraction for this game is the presence of Sean Dyche, who to this day remains Burnley's longest-serving and most successful manager in the Premier League era.

Under Vincent Kompany, Burnley is playing a more attractive brand of football, although results have eluded them. The Clarets look doomed, but they could pull off a miracle if they continue the run of form they put together just before the international break (W1, D1).

Meanwhile, Everton could end up inside the bottom three if they continue in the poor form they had before the March international break (D4, L4). That said, three wins apiece in each of the last seven Premier League games between both sides (D1) suggests the game can go either way.

Manchester United vs Liverpool–April 07

Liverpool will travel to Old Trafford again in April to renew their rivalry with Manchester United.

Both sides met in the FA Cup before the March international break, with United beating their rivals 4-3 in a wild game that saw both sides squander leads.

Despite losing the last meeting between both sides, Liverpool will be the overwhelming favourites to win here, given their quality.

However, when these sides meet, form and quality are not considered, as Liverpool beat United 7-0 last season despite being in worse form and shape than the Red Devils.

That said, United's three wins against Liverpool in the Premier League since Jurgen Klopp became Liverpool's manager (D7, L6) still suggest that the Red Devils may face another embarrassing loss at Old Trafford.

Newcastle vs Tottenham–April 13

Tottenham will keep their quest to play in next season's Champions League when they travel to St. James' Park on April 13.

Both sides were expected to be among the teams competing for the top four this season, but only Tottenham is close to their goal, while Newcastle is struggling to keep up.

The Magpies are hovering around mid-table after losing 12 out of their last 28 league games of the season–more than double the number of losses they had last season.

Despite their poor form, the hosts have been solid at home, where they lost just twice in their first 14 games.

So, despite being the outsiders in this fixture, they will welcome Tottenham to St. James' Park with a massive chance of winning despite losing in four of their last six home games against Tottenham (W1 D1).

West Ham vs Fulham–April 14

East London meets West London on April 14, when Fulham make the short trip to the London Stadium, looking to make it back-to-back wins over West Ham for the first time in the Premier League era.

The Cottagers beat West Ham 5-0 the last time both sides met in the reverse fixture, so David Moyes' side will be desperate to redeem themselves and avenge that huge loss.

Winning will also keep West Ham pushing for a place in Europe next season, while Fulham will aim to win to push them towards the top half.

Luton vs Brentford

Luton and Brentford may have different experience levels in the Premier League but are not separated by much this season.

While Brentford, playing in their third PL season, were expected to push for the top half again this season at the start of this campaign, Luton were expected to drop right back to the Championship.

But six months into the season, the Hatters are exceeding expectations while Brentford are struggling.

They are separated by four points with nine games to go, making their upcoming meeting at Kenilworth Road a must-win for either team.

Both sides will probably come into this tie in a similar form, making it a perfect matchup.

Arsenal vs Chelsea–April 23

Chelsea will travel to the Emirates Stadium on April 23 to get one over their high-flying London rivals, Arsenal.

The rivalry between both London clubs has produced some classic games, but the Gunners have recently dominated this fixture.

Mikel Arteta's side won two of the last four head-to-head meetings (D2) and, given their current form, are the favourites to win this tie.

Chelsea will be desperate to be party spoilers here, as beating their rivals here could derail their title quest.

But even more than spoiling Arsenal's party, winning at the Emirates should help keep Chelsea inside the top half.

Everton vs Liverpool

The Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool is usually one of the best fixtures in the Premier League season.

The fixture is one to watch in April, as it is full of drama, intrigue, crunching tackles and bookings.

As usual, Liverpool is flying while Everton is fighting relegation. Yet, when they meet, we expect fireworks, although Liverpool are expected to win, as they have done in four of the last five PL games between both sides (D1).

Tottenham vs Arsenal

Another London derby to watch out for in April is Arsenal's trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the last week of April.

The fact that Arsenal is fighting for the title while Tottenham is fighting for a top-four finish makes this fixture even more interesting this time. The Gunners are favourites to win, having won three of the last five head-to-head meetings (D1, L1).

Yet, Spurs under Ange Postecoglu's guarantee goals. So we can expect a good game in North London regardless of the outcome of this game.
